Rock moves me… or do I move the rock?

You would not believe all the material I’ve got stored up in my head for this blog. And it will appear, eventually. In the meantime, for your amusement, here is a letter I found on the internet, written to the editor of the newspaper in the small town I grew up in.
“Dear editor:
I live in Canada Cove on a corner. Several months ago several large trucks came around the corner too fast and too close and broke up the curb.
The manager had a new curb put in and placed a large rock right on the curve to help stop vehicles from going over the curb.
About two weeks ago I noticed a large brown spot in the ground cover - not made by gophers. I asked the manager to look at this brown spot and see if he could figure out what caused it.
The manager said that someone had moved the rock (which weighs more than 100 pounds). There are no drag marks on the ground cover. Someone (or several someones) picked up the rock and moved it. I am calling this the mystery of the moving rock.
If anyone knows who moved the rock, could they please ask the people to move it back? Or, if there or three or more strong men who could move it back for me, I would appreciate it. It is too heavy for me to move and I can’t figure any other way to get this 100-pound rock back in place.
I live at the intersection of Canada Cove and El Paseo.”
Hmmm… this was a difficult entry as I love my last blog title, Ukrainian Poptart, so much I never wanted it to end.

Shannon,
I just wanted to send you a message of good will and festive cheer coz I’ve left it far too late to post you a card. I know it’s on your site and it should be more personal but I’ve moved jobs and lost everything - including my sanity. Have a super duper Chrimbo and sparkly new year. We’re booking our next trip to Venice for early September - hope we can hook up again!
Take care and keep dreaming!
Love
Kirsty & Michael
(the noisy-food-lovin-oirish couple from Venice)
