No offense, but St. Louis is a total shithole and on the contrary, Austin is one of the nicest places (away from the beach, mind you) to live. It's quite tolerant, very progressive, full of art and music. Gorgeous lakes and rivers. Hill country is right around the corner. I have often thought that I will have to move if I ever want to own a house because there is no way I can afford a house in SF. But where is it cool? I looked at some real estae sites in St. Louis - you can buy a house there for $50,000!!!!!!!! - or even less. When I told Leigh that she said "Wow, St. Louis must be nice".
